Dustin of RainCityGuide.com, a Seattle based blog that is one of the most read blogs in the US, posted earlier today about the NWMLS (Seattle’s MLS System) allowing companies to post sold listings. Here is what he had to say:
Interestingly, the NWMLS is now allowing agents to list sold data on real estate websites.
Along these lines, Shelley Rossi, the Director of Public Relations for John L. Scott, emailed to let me know that John L. Scott added a comparable market analysis tool to their home search Robbie discussed last week…
“There are two ways to access comparable sold property information on JohnLScott.com. The first is by address, which can be refined by entering property characteristics, such as square footage, bedrooms, bathrooms, etc., and the system will identify the ten closest “sold homes” that have characteristics meeting the specified criteria. The second is a radius search around a home that is currently for sale. From the property detail page of an active listing, visitors can click a link to see the ten closest “sold homes” that are similar to the property they are viewing.”I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised that the NWMLS would be the first MLS to open up this type of data to agent websites since the agents here in Seattle are a lot closer to the fire than agents in other parts of the country.
Wait to see what you can do with your Ubertor website in the coming weeks. We have a new feature coming out that will allow our clients to do some great things…. watch for more details here.
