There’s a free design tool out there, online, and it’s allowing Realtors like you to create professional feature sheets – for FREE!
No catch. No credit card required.
It’s called Canva. Canva.com, to be precise.
I’m sure you’ve heard of Adobe’s Design software like Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign, all of which have some of the steepest software learning curves I have encountered. There’s an important market for the Adobe products but they are just ‘too much’ for anyone who isn’t a graphic designer or a photographer.
Enter, Canva.
Canva gives even the most uninspired person design and layout ideas as well as the tools to bring their creations to fruition!
Here are some details…
It’s web-based. Which means that you operate the whole thing in your Chrome web browser. (Yes, please use Chrome, not Internet Explorer or Safari.)
It auto-saves and syncs your creations, which means that your work is saved, and accessible to anyone logged into your Canva account. Have a virtual assistant? Share your Canva account with them and they can work their magic and you can tweak and download their creations.
I realise that this all sounds like some kind of sales pitch for Canva, but I love to share useful tools and this is one of the most engaging web tools out there for marketing and design.
Let’s just call this an endorsement for a cool program that lets Real Estate Agents create their own feature sheets for free.

Create a DIY real estate flyer with these 4 simple steps:
- Go to https://www.canva.com/create/flyers/real-estate-flyers/ and click “Start Designing a Real Estate Flyer”
Pro tip: start by naming your file in the upper right, and double check that it is auto-saving in the upper right of the screen.
- Open Canva and choose the “Real Estate Flyer” design type
- Upload your photos
- Place your images, add filters as needed, and add text
- Save and download to print your flyer!
Pro tip: Create your first flyer with a template in mind, rather than a specific property (you can take an old listing to play with, for example). Then, copy that template each time you’re designing a new flyer. It will save you a lot of time in the long run because you won’t need to place your headshot, logo or other consistent features every time you create.
