I took a moment this morning to record a video answering a question that I am frequently asked: “Why should I blog?”
Below is my response via video.

You might also notice that I give out an email address different that my Ubertor one. The company I’m referring to is called Reachd.com and does training for business owners that Michael Stephenson and I own. If your interested in learning more about what Reachd.com offers, check out the website here.

Well put, Steve! I embedded a comment within the video about 1:15 in. While I don’t think blogging is the way to go for EVERYONE and certainly not the ONLY way to go (well-established agents in my area are doing just fine working off their tenure, reputation and sphere of influence and wouldn’t know a blog if they accidentally found one online), I do feel for new agents just getting their feet wet, if you’re not including blogging in your marketing plan (yes, it IS marketing) than you are going to have a tougher time beating the odds and sticking around in this game.
AWESOME backdrop BTW! Where is it?

@ Mike – Hey Mike, thanks for your comments. I think your right, well established agents will do just fine in slower markets. The problem is they will be spending more to market their properties. I see big agents now that used to do a 2 page spread in a magazine doing 4 or 6 pages. That cost adds up fast. Agents that use blogging as a marketing tool will not only save $$ but generate leads from a new category of client. At the end of the day, my real point is for agents to get online, use blogs, twitter, facebook, etc to market listings.
As for the backdrop, it is on Bowen Island in British Columbia. 🙂
