Last night was the 1 year anniversary of the Vancouver Real Estate Technology Meetup Group. Over the past year we have had lots of great speakers, tons of attendees and exceptional networking. We hit a milestone early in the development of the meetup where we are the largest real estate agent meetup in North America. We have 345 members!!
If you feel like your missing out, feel free to RSVP here for our next event.
Last night we did something a little different before the event. We actually interviewed some of the attendees on their thoughts, business and technology within the real estate business.
Here is the first video with Ron Usher:

BellAlliance.com Interview
Rodney Bartlett: Alright, this is Rodney Bartlett with Reachd and we’re at the Vancouver Tech meet up tonight and I was just talking with Ron Usher about his website, what’s the name of your website again?
Ron Usher: Well it’s BellAlliance.ca, Bell Alliance is a real estate law firm in Vancouver.
Rodney Bartlett: Okay, we were just we’re talking a little bit about how people find their website. So did you wanna tell us about how people find you on the internet?
Ron Usher: It’s hard to say, we’re certainly seeing that we’re getting some search referrals and people go to websites they type in Real Estate Lawyer Vancouver and get us. I would say most of our hits are still come from realtor referrals or mortgage lender referrals so they’ve been given our name BellaAlliance.ca or maybe even of course they typed in Bella Alliance where they get our site directly. It’s one of those things I’m sure we can do more to optimize ‘coz it’s pretty clear that google is the source of getting found on the net these days.
Rodney Bartlett: And I think you said something about Google Adwords. You guys use that?
Ron Usher: That seem to work well first basically we’ve got things like Real Estate Lawyer Vancouver or you know Real Estate Mortgage Vancouver and we seem to get this substantial number of hits.
Rodney Bartlett: And I know that you’ve been coming to the meet up quite a while you spoke. Did you speak a few month a couple of months ago?
Ron Usher: A few months ago now.
Rodney Bartlett: I guess maybe if you wanna tell us why you’d come to the meet up and what you like about the meet up?
Ron Usher: Good question. I think partly it’s where we founded the firm two years ago based on sort of innovative technology and so it’s really clear to us that our work is not in the context of the realtors, the mortgage lenders, the clients and increasing that’s about effective use of technology. So our firm from the beginning we have the luxury as a start up, start up as a paper list oriented operation in my work for many years has been involved in sort of technology side of law so just kind of a logical place to meet with people who are doing innovative things and real estate, you know it’s just so clear where we’re going. The fax machine will not move forever and increasingly the web is a data exchange, as a document exchange, as a financial exchange It’s just how we’re gonna be doing things so it’s just kinda fun to came here to see people who are playing around out in there in the bleeding edge of technology.
Rodney Bartlett: Alright, Thanks!
Ron Usher: Thank You!
