Are you on Facebook?
Most likely you’re not. But you should think about taking a look at it.
What is Facebook?
Well, no one says it better than Facebook themselves: “Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them. People use Facebook to keep up with friends, upload an unlimited number of photos, share links and videos, and learn more about the people they meet.”
Check out Facebook, it is worth your time to open a free account and check it out. I guarantee that you will have “friends” come out of the woodwork that you have not see or heard from in years. Trust me, try it.
What makes it more powerful than Craigslist?
Facebook has rolled out a fully functional “marketplace” where you can list what you have for sale and what your looking to buy. Real estate agents have already begun taking advantage of it by loading listings into the Facebook Marketplace. It could become a little more powerful than craigslist as it puts the marketplace item automatically in front of all of their “friends” within Facebook.
Check out MJ Ankenman’s assignment that she posted in the Facebook Marketplace. I only saw it because she is a “friend” of mine on Facebook and it shows up on my Facebook homepage. It is quite powerful.
On another note to show how powerful Facebook is. I changed my “status” on Facebook and saw immediate results. (Your Facebook status is something that you can change anytime you want and it updates all of your “friends” Facebook home pages.) I changed my Facebook status to say: Stephen Jagger is looking for prizes for the upcoming Vancouver College Alumni Basketball Tournament.
Within 24 hours I had 5 emails offering prizes for the tournament and I did not have to email or phone anyone. Trust me, try Facebook, you might find that it is addictive.
