Our pal Joel Burslem of the famous futureofrealestatemarketing.com blog and more recently INMAN News and of course fellow Vancouverite writes about the NAR’s Center for Realtor Technology recently released 2007 REALTOR Technology Survey. **Click to read the full 2007 REALTOR® Technology Survey (PDF)** Here is what he had to say:

One highlight from the survey jumps out at me at being shockingly low however.

* 65 percent of respondents have their own business Web site.

65 percent! Wasn’t that like a C- in college? That’s barely above passing!

We’ve passed Web 1.0, we’re halfway through Web 2.0 and well on our way to Web 3.0 and only 65 percent of Realtors have a web site? What gives?

I agree with Joel. More agents should have websites. Obviously I have a very biased opinion, but I just don’t see how an agent does business without a website. A website is the cheapest form of advertising available to a real estate agent. It should be the center of the agents marketing.

Here is a thought… if you are interested in trying an Ubertor website give me a call and I will setup a website for you plus give you the first 90 days FREE. This offer is only available for new websites on our system and we will require a credit card for payments to begin at 90 days. If you want to take me up on this offer, please call me directly at 604-537-4548. This offer is open to the first 50 agents that call. (UPDATE: Sorry, all gone)

It’s nice to see you trying to help. i agree that it’s very sad so few agents use websites. What’s worse is that probably 80% of the 65% of them are templates and look identical. Guess it’s still better than not having a site at all. I launched http://www.poshd.com to showcase the best real estate sites on the web, and have quickly found out how difficult it is to fill the slots.

You guys are so right about the web site problem. Nothing says “part time agent” like a agent without his own site. The best combo is a good original website that is promoted on TV. I found the best deal in TV ads with TVSellsRealEstate.com who makes quality, original TV commercials for the real estate industry for free. Their system lets me be on TV for a whole month for less than my print ad budget.
